Large Goods Vehicles

magnifier Drive Shetland offers a variety of Large Goods Vehicle training courses. We use only instructor who are on the Driving Standards Agency List of Approved LGV Instructors ensuring training is of the highest standard.

Courses Available

Cat C1 (rigid 3.5 to 7.5 tonnes)
Drivers over 18 who hold a current car driving licence. Since January 1997 drivers are no longer entitled to drive a medium sized lorry/van on a car licence alone, they now must achieve a Cat C1 driving test which includes a theory, medical and practical test.

Cat C (rigid 7.5 to 32 tonnes)
For drivers over 21 holding a current car driving licence and includes passing a theory, medical and practical test.

Cat C&E (articulated vehicle)
For drivers over 18 who hold a Cat C licence.
